The Trafford Partnership

The Trafford Partnership is the Borough's Local Strategic Partnership, a single body which brings together more than 100 organisations including local and regional partners from across the public, private, voluntary and community sectors.

As ambassadors for the local area, members of the Trafford Partnership are committed to promoting Trafford as an excellent place to live, learn, work and relax and to start and grow a business. By working together effectively we believe we can be even better.

The Trafford Partnership website aims to promote effective communications within and beyond the Partnership and to provide local people, businesses and communities with information about the work of the Partnership and how the Partnership is progressing towards achieving the promises and vision set out in the Sustainable Community Strategy.

The Trafford Partnership Conference on 5 July inspired Partnership members and community representatives to raise the bar of Partnership working and strive to achieve more together.

The Conference was attended by more than 250 people from the Police, Fire Service, Council, Housing Trust, Primary Care Trust, Groundwork, community, environmental and voluntary groups and the private sector, to name a few. The new Point venue at Lancashire County Cricket Club provided a brilliant backdrop to the event.

Delegates were truly inspired as they heard moving personal tributes from residents who had been the beneficiaries of successful Partnership projects. These included the rapper who educates young people about the pitfalls of violent gangs, the pupils at Seymour Park school who have been enriched by the development of Centenary Gardens, the young offender who had been given a break in life through the Housing Trust’s Clean Start programme, the women who are now participating in sport and physical activity and the brilliant musician who had benefited from the Mental Health Personal Budget.

The Conference also enabled the Partnership as a whole to get to grips with some of its most challenging cross-partnership issues from health inequalities to carbon emissions. This was done through a series of workshops and provided partners with a clearer direction on how it will tackle these issues.

In the afternoon delegates were treated to a spectacular motivational speech from Olympic High Jumper Steve Smith. The Silver medallist motivated us to raise the bar of partnership working and left delegates wanting to strive to achieve more to reach our Vision.

More information on the Conference including photo’s, details of the success showcases, follow-up from the workshops and the speeches can be found on our Trafford Partnership Conference page.

The next Partnership Conference is due to take place early next year.
