The Trafford Partnership

The Trafford Partnership is the Borough's Local Strategic Partnership, a single body which brings together more than 100 organisations including local and regional partners from across the public, private, voluntary and community sectors.

Members of the Trafford Partnerships work together to meet the needs of the residents and communities of Trafford, sharing a common goal; to make Trafford a thriving, diverse, prosperous and culturally vibrant borough.

The Trafford Partnership website aims to promote effective communications within and beyond the Partnership and to provide local people, businesses and communities with information about the work of the Partnership and how the Partnership is progressing towards achieving the promises and vision set out in the Sustainable Community Strategy.

Neighbourhoods have their say at Trafford Partnership event

Over 200 community groups, local businesses and frontline staff had their say on how their neighbourhood could be improved at the Trafford Partnership Neighbourhood Action Event on the 7th March 2012.

The event was opened by Matthew Colledge, Chair of the Trafford Partnership and Leader of Council, who outlined the commitment from partners to work more closely in neighbourhoods to improve the lives of those living and working in Trafford. To support this work, he also launched Trafford Council’s Neighbourhood Voluntary Sector Grants scheme for 2012, which will distribute £200,000 to groups across the borough

The day focussed on addressing the biggest priorities in the 4 neighbourhoods in Trafford; North; South; Central and West, with a focus on turning these priorities into action and presenting bold and innovative ideas that would really deliver change on the ground. To help the conversation, delegates received information about their neighbourhood from the new infotrafford website www.infotrafford.org.uk

Council announces £200,000 for Trafford's neighbourhoods

Leader of Trafford Council and Chair of the Trafford Partnership Matt Colledge launched the council's new Neighbourhood Voluntary Sector Grants Scheme at the Partnership's Neighbourhood Action Day on Wednesday (7/03).

The council will distribute £200,000 to community and voluntary sector groups across the borough.

The council is looking for local people to develop innovative projects that will tackle the most challenging issues in our neighbourhoods. Each of Trafford's four neighbourhoods - North, South, Central and West - has £50,000 to spend, and the grants will be decided by people who live and work in the community.

A further £120,000 will be released in the summer which will focus on supporting the borough's diverse and priority communities.

Speaking at the event, Cllr Colledge said "The council wants this money to be delivered on the ground, by people who know where it's needed most, and know best how to change and improve your neighbourhoods.

"I'd urge anyone with a good idea about how to improve the lives of individuals and communities to apply, from small community groups through to more established third sector organisations."

To support new ideas and encourage new groups to apply, independent training and guidance on how to apply will be available from the council.

Further information on the scheme, application forms and criteria and support available can be found on the council's website at www.trafford.gov.uk/voluntarysectorgrant
