A important agreement for the future of the borough – the Trafford Compact – has been signed.

The Compact is an agreement between the public sector and local voluntary groups in Trafford.

It sets out the ways that public bodies such as the council, police and health services will work with voluntary and community groups to make a difference to the communities they serve and improve life for everyone.

It has been updated following extensive consultation organised by Voluntary and Community Action Trafford, the umbrella body for all voluntary groups in the borough.

The Compact covers issues such as funding and commissioning services, volunteering and workforce development, consultation, and development of diverse community groups. It sets out not only what the partners want to achieve, but commitments on how they will do it, including how we will monitor and measure our impact and success.
