Strategic Housing Partnership

The Strategic Housing Partnership refreshed its focus and membership to align with the priorities set out in the Trafford Economic and Housing Growth Framework.

The focus of the Strategic Housing Partnership is now housing growth and development, a new Housing Strategy is due to be published in the Summer of 2018, once published the Strategic Housing partnership will review its priorities and workstreams.

The current workstreams of the Strategic Housing Partnership include:

  • Identify an appropriate supply of land and exploring opportunities for land assembly, collaborative joint ventures and partnerships between organisations in both the public and private sector to accelerate housing delivery
  • Improve routes in to homeownership for Trafford residents including shared ownership, rent to buy and right to buy
  • Explore and promote financial models which enable people to access a variety of home ownership products to help increase demand
  • Ensure there is a provision of rented, specialist and supported accommodation to meet the housing needs and demand across the Borough now and in to the future
  • Ensure there is a strategic approach to maximising social value from housing development in the borough; in partnership with the Trafford Economic Growth Partnership and Trafford Employment, Skills and Enterprise Group and Social Value
